When it comes to Mac OS clones, you think about Umax, PowerComputing and the like. Here's a lesser known competitor that was sold back at around 1997 / 98 and shipped with Mac OS 7.6: The Gravision Four 200.

Here's a pic: http://images.macintosh.garden/2021/11/29/gravision.jpg

It was sold by Gravis, a European Mac retailer. It's based on the Tanzania board (as used e.g. in the 4400 Power Mac) and uses a 604e CPU that's - unfortunately - soldered in. Doesn't sound impressive, I know :-) but on the plus side, it came stock with a 512k cache and a 4 MB ATI graphics card as well as five PCI slots for expansion. (whatever you'd fill those up with ...)

Anyone ever seen one of these "out in the wild"? I'd be really interested in knowing how well those sold and if some are still in existence.

Hmmm - interesting!  Don't think I ever would have come across this here in the States.  At first, it sounded like a variant of the Motorola Starmax 4000, but apparently Gravis was a sub-licensee of Umax.

Sorry for the https link, but here is Gravis' page on Everymac: https://everymac.com/systems/gravis/index-gravis-gravision-mac-clones.html

I'm interested in all things clone - would love to see one of these - thanks Bolkonskij!
