Hey Guys! Just today I was given a Power Macitosh 8600/300 with 300 Mhz Power PC chip and Mac OS 8.6 witch I've downgraded to System 7.6.1. It's A wiked fast machine to tell you the truth and supports up to 1280 x 1024 resution display with a 21" Apple Monitor. I've installed Photoshop 4.0.1 and I'm also runing Quicktime 5.0.2. I really love the Machine. Oh! and get this, it has not one, but two ethernet ports, not counting the odly shaped one. Hmmm... Imagine the possibilaties. |

The 8600/300 is a favorite of mine. It was the last PCI PowerMac model before the G3 machines. It uses the 604ev processor and its processor daughter card is not compatible with the earlier 8600 models. These last machines are often referred to as the MachV models. They are wicked fast running 7.6.1. It is a very nice find, have great fun with the machine. bill
