Hello,

I have a .image file I cannot open in Mac OS 7.6 on a PowerMac 6100. Eventually I found out it's a copy from an old 400k floppy disc formatted as MFS. Is there a way to mount these files and read the content?

Thanks.

Mac OS 7.6 dropped write support for MFS disk, and Mac OS 8 dropped all support form MFS.

I am guessing that the newer versions of DiskCopy dropped support in a similar manner. DiskCopy 6.x is the most commonly use version now, but there older versions of DiskCopy. So if you are using a later version DiskCopy you might look for an older version and see if it will mount your image.

DiskCopy4.2 is from 1991. It can be downloaded here.

Thank you, DiskCopy 4.2 did the trick.
