You need a USB2 mic for the mini. An all in one solution ICECAM 2 from MacAlley usb2 mic, headset and web cam. The link below to Mac Mall says it is $20.00 - not too bad http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop/detail.asp?Redir=1&description=MacAlly+Peripherals%2DIceCam2+USB+2%2E0+Video+web+Camera+with+Microphone%2DDigital+Cameras&dpno=7509937&name=IceCam2+USB+2.0+Video+web+Camera+with+Microphone&mfg=ICECAM2 I needed just a mic for recording voice on screen movies. I picked up a Logitech usb mic. It was about $30.00 if I remember correctly. It is directional and works well, but you would then use it with a set of standard headphones in the head phone jack. I went to the Canadian Staples catalogue and it showed a Logitech usb mic and head set at $79.00 CD I think the key here is USB2.
