How much does it cost for 7 and 8-era software? I want one or two "good deal" pieces, maybe three or so. Here's what I have:
AppleWorks 5
Office 2001
WordPerfect
AppleWorks 6
Games
MacWrite 1.x

Here's what I want:
MacWrite Pro
ClarisWorks 3
Office 4.3/98
Word 5/Excel 4/ etc.  or some of that
Nisus Writer
ClarisWorks 4
PageMaker
Photoshop 3
Photo-editing program (e.g. vintage GraphicConverter, PhotoDeluxe, etc.)

Now I can't afford more then one piece out of this wishlist within 2 weeks and it has to be under $50- hopefully lots under. Anyone have any of this software they've been having trouble getting rid of? I also have an old Will Maker, FileMaker, and Mac OS 8.5 I could trade, I think, plus some vintage Mac stuff (Quadra 700, SCSI Cd-ROM 2x by Apple, broken but fixable portable Stylewriter, some removable vintage SCSI drive and case and Power Mac/Performa 6100 parts, don't know if they work, plus an LC PDS Ethernet card.

I am not sure how a lot of that stuff was distributed. I have many of those items. ClarisWorks 3 came on 7 800K floppies. Office 4 included Word 5 and Exel 4. It came on 39 1.4MB floppies (It might have came on a CD as well.)

PhotoShop 3 was pretty small in comparision coming on 3 1.4MB floppies. PageMaker was made by Aldus, came in a huge box with a wonderful manual and 4 floppies.

I think some items are still around. Nisus had released Nisus Writer 4 for free distribution. I think all versions of Graphics Converter can still be downloaded from Lemke Software.

I would image you could get everything you are looking for for less than $50. Be aware that floppies degrade with age and the originals might not work anymore. Good luck in your quest.

You may have some trouble with Photoshop 3.  People look for the old edition so they can use it buying an update.  I does not matter which version you have, it makes you elegable to update to current. This keeps it pricy.

An alternative is to look for Photoshop LE that came with peripherals like scanners at that time.

Also, there was a program called ColorIt which gave limited functionality for free and then could be upgrade to the full version for a fee.  Their site is still there, Microfrontier.com and they are now at version 4.5 for OS X.  Current cost new is about $68.00

Nisus Writer 6.5 for classic is still available from Nisus at $79.00.  That should put a lid on the prices for previous versions.

Good luck on your quest

I have photoshop 3, clarisworks 4 (the disk images)..
among many others, among them the disk images for every version of system 7, and images for 8 through 9.2.2

I had links to a lot of my vintage software on my webpage, but it's under construction.. it doesn't cost anything to email them if you need them..

warmest regards..
