Hey Everyone,

I finally got around to purchasing a Mac to VGA adaptor for my PowerBook Duo 2300c. Its nice to have a larger screen hooked up to the computer, but I cant get over how the colors look washed out. This only happens when i run the computer in 256 colors or less. When I switch to thousands of colors, the image looks fine. In the Monitors control panel, i can switch the gamma to "uncorrected" which helps out a little bit. I even got another Mac to VGA adaptor in hopes that the first adaptor was at fault, but the washed out colors still persist.

Could ColorSync be set up to correct this?

Some more info on the monitor you are hooking it up to would help us out troubleshooting.

Someone else might have a better idea, but I remember reading that, especially with Multisync monitors, the output signal in some older Macs isn't completely compatible with newer screens, and sometimes the adapters result in washed out colors.
