Palm Pilot "graffiti" has never really done it for me. I'm interesting in finding a Newton 2000 or 2100, but I only know what I've read about them. I was hoping some owners could give me some 1st hand info. Basically, I want to use it to take quick notes as thoughts come to me, daily reminders, and schedules. How accurate/fast is the handwriting recognition? How do the batteries hold up? Are the 2000/2100 series reliable? Is integration with System 7 easy? Thank you! |

I do not have my Newton 2100 anymore. There are times I miss it, but then I remember it pretty big compared to a Palm. I do have an OMP which still works well. Handwriting recognition is pretty good. It does vary some from person to person. The hand writing get "trained" so it improves with time. Battery life is amazing. It is from the System 7 era so the software works very well. It natively it integrates with Claris Organizer and with software it can integrate with other organizers as well. All of the Newton organizers are very rugged and very reliable. You can find all the software and information you need for the Newtons at United Network of Newton Archives bill

Thanks for the info Bill. That is a great website, I'm glad the Newton users are a cohesive bunch.
