I really just want to fill the battery bay the cheapest way possible, so the battery could be dead for all I care. I'm just tired of looking at the empty bay. The key word in this whole post is cheap. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. JoAT |

If you look around there is actually a powerbook battery opening cover. I have not seen where you can source it and for the last little while ebay looks to have nothing. If you actually would like a battery, try Wegener Powerbooks. They sell a battery for the 1400. Go to: http://www.wegenermedia.com/parts.htm and scroll down. They have a serious pb 1400 parts selection. I got a 30 Gb drive for my 1400 from them.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I know about Wegener Media and their terrific parts selection. The problem is that a new battery is $45 USD from them. Just not in the budget right now. I was hoping there was someone here with maybe a dead battery in a drawer or something that would be willing to part with it.
