I have used the Orange PC cards and I prefer them to the Apple DOS cards. They will work fine under 7.6. I have used the 5xx and 6xx series of cards. The 5xx series of PCI cards are really designed for total PC compatibility. Their dongle wiring harness provides for all the standard PC ports and generally if it can be done on a PC box it can be done with the card. The 6xx series of cards keep a focus on the software side and their dongle wiring harness offers fewer ports. All of the Orange PC cards are tied to DOS/Windows so they will not allow you to run Be or Linux or BSD. I imagine they could but no drivers exist for those platforms. They will run several variations of DOS. MS DOS, Free DOS, and DR DOS are all supported. Win95 and Win98 are natively supported. I have seen rumors that WinME can be made to work, but Win2000 and later do not work. It also support a couple revisions of WinNT, but I have not tried them. A search of the web should located all the software and manuals needed. Older NuBus Orange PC cards supported DOS in a window on the Mac, however the 5xx and 6xx run full screen either on a separate monitor or sharing the Mac monitor. bill
