In the 'notes' page about SpeedDoubler's features, there's the statement: "...recommends shutting off everything except the "Faster Emulation" option..." What about the "Faster Disk Performance" (Speed Doubler's name for "Cache")? What I had read before was that the cache from SpeedDoubler worked better than the original one, at least for System 7 (I use 7.6.1). If anybody could confirm that it's better to leave the cache option off, please reply. Also, does anybody know if it overrides the cache setting from the Memory control panel, or do you have to zero the cache in there? Thanks, bomfim |

In all the tests I performed on my systems the Faster Disk Performance did nothing. Not even a little. Although, most of my machines are high-memory and so I have the Memory control panel set to a lot of cache.
