Ahhh! So close and so far away! It seems like no one has one that has less than 10 ports on ebay or amazon... or they are all too expensive or in Canada! Well I'll just have to keep looking I guess...

It doesn't matter how many ports the hub has, as long as it has at least two.   I have an old 3Com 10Mbit switch here that has 24 ports.   Overkill for anything that I'd ever use it for.   But it works for getting those old Asante NICs on the LAN.

Try your local retailers.   You may be able to get some "new old stock" at bargain basement prices.   See if they have any old stock that they don't even dare to try to sell anymore.   10 Mbit hubs and switches used to be really common, but now no one wants them.   So there's a good chance that some of your local computer and electronics retailers may have one or two laying around in the back room collecting dust.   Only way to find out is to ask.

You might also want to check any computer/electronics recyclers or surplus shops in and around your neighbourhood.   Or post an ad on a local classifieds forum or mailing list.   Just get the word out that you're looking for old network gear.   There's a strong possibility that you'll get what you need for absolutely free.

Ya, I've seen the ones with like 20 ports but I don't really want that huge thing on the desk! I think we have a couple local retailers, only one mac one sadly! But I can think of a couple others...
