This is a free version for making web-pages. It was distributed in cd's with issue 40 or 42 of MacAddict magazine. Does anyone have it? |

I don't think Freeway Express or Freeway Pro was ever distributed "free" - it was a special package for purchasers of MacAddict.

An early Mac Addict CD contained Freeway V1.0.2. Freeway had just released V2 and were using the "free" earlier version to promote the new version. If I remember correctly the serial number was contained in the magazine and you could use that serial number to get the upgrade price for V2. I am not sure at what version Freeway gained the Express and Pro versions. The interface for Freeway is patterned after Quark and its inital marketing was to desktop publishers looking to move to the web. Freeway, V1 and 2 anyway, require you to install the Quickdraw GX system extension. bill

Hard to say how free is Freeway as I have not seen the cd (the reason for my post), but the 1.0.2 is neither Express nor Pro. Here are 2 other options: - Claris Home Page A fully working 30 day trial http://www.mac.org/internet/ - Wallaby 1.2.2 Really small and fast HTML editor shareware. The company is still live and kicking and a X version is available from their own site. http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive/Abstracts/comm/inet/web/HyperArchive.html

I managed to get from the Ebay 56 cd's published with the german "Mac Magazin" between 1995-99. Cd 8/99 contains the full Freeway 1.0.2 with s/n in a separate file. So nope, it ain't freeware.
