Hello! I've got a PB 1400cs 166 which I really want to use for word processing and email since my ibook g3 died a few days ago. Now, the PB got only 16 MB RAM, but runs nice on OS 7.6.1. I bought a Dell True Mobile Card 1150 (wireless lan, pcmcia) which got the Orinoco Gold chipset. My question is: is it somehow possible to get the card running in OS 7.6? I tried the Wavelan drivers and Orinoco V7 and V6. These drivers need Mac OS 8.5.1 and 8.6 and at least 32 MB RAM and the Wavelan drivers won't work. Right now there isn't any RAM on Ebay (Europe) and I really can't affort to order RAM from some online-shop in the U.S. Also I need the "Gold" card because of the WEP-encryption. Thanks a lot cheers Till |

The truemobile dell cards don't work under 7.6.1. They do work under 8.6 using the orinoco software. You need the actual orinoco gold cards, or the wavelan cards to work under 7.6.1. I went through this hassel myself. I now have one of each and dual boot my 1400.
