Tried out Ubuntu for fun, but an iMac 350 was not so snappy with it than with OS 9. Those of the new distros that need only low spec hardware, are more readily available for pc's than for ppc's. Meaning that even fastish older macs are better of with 7/8/9, as those would not run a Linux any speedier than OS X. I like snappy computers, and for getting a modern browser etc, the VPC3 is a better solution for a fast 7 machine. |
