I am using a Etherlink III (3c589c) using the drivers provided at http://www.floodgap.com/retrotech/mac/enet3c589/ and all i get is alternative ethernet in my TCP/IP window. It does not seem to work at all and i do not kow what i am doing wrong |

Well, alternative ethernet would be the network port you want to use, so then you set "Configure" to "Using DHCP Server" and then plug your ethernet cable into your router or cable modem. That should be it, unless you have DSL, in which case I have no idea.

It is an often misunderstood fact that if the Mac can see a card and recognize the type of card, that it will work with that card. Cards are designed to report their type to the system and the system will show it for what it is correctly. It will even offer you the opportunity to use it for that purpose. However if the System does not have the correct drivers for the card, the card will not be usable. bill

The drivers speseficaly say the C and D both work, due to being almost the same card. i ahve the driver installed. And it seems to not work on my Armada E500 when i try to connect it to the web (it uses 98se with the Me updated files)
