As discussed here it seems that it would be a very nice idea and very helpful for the unwashed masses (that'd be us regular members) to be able to submit to a secondary list of software to be linked from The Software Guide.

Call it "User Submissions" to differentiate it from the "official" list and only include titles that X number of users have submitted as being helpful and are not repeats of what is on the "official" list.

That may be interesting, but not convinced how helpful that would be.  If anything it would serve to confuse.  If you can refine the idea further I may consider it.

Hence the purpose of posting a poll at the top for people to show interest. If no one shows any, I'd say the notion is best tabled.

No idea how. There are plenty of "reader suggestions" book lists and "other customers suggested" lists on Amazon and other websites, etc … some are annoying in their context and others are not, few if any are confusing.
