I got my new $50 sonnet upgrade today and installed the software I pulled to cache simm and installed the upgrade and nothing. Pulled the upgrade and system restarted. I put the card in and out 3 more times and decided to do the system 7 thing I restarted zapped the pr ram and rebuilt the desktop reinstalled the sonnet card and everything has been working fine. Just something to look out for. |

Old computers can get dirty and decrepit sometimes. Something on your motherboard or in a slot was probably making bad contact and the higher pull of the CPU upgrade just made it obvious.

well after a couple of weeks the g3 died I got a second one from sonnet and It has been working flawlessly. I did get 4 32 meg simms last week, it is nice to have the extra ram. I have found a scanner with os7 software on e-bay to finish out the project. My daughter has started using it for her daily school work. I also pulled out the select lw 300 to finish the system. I can still remember wanting this system in 1993. it is truly amayzing that a machine sold 14+ years ago is still so useful. michael
