How about a downgrading tutorial, or a pointer to one, to help all the misguided souls who have 8.X or 9.X installed on their old hardware? (I have 8.1 on a Quadra 700 - it's not bad, but seems a little sluggish sometimes.)

what I would do is get another hard drive reformat. Then do a clean install of 7.6.  After every thing is running you can reinstall your files or put your old drive in the scsi chain change the id and copy away.  The issue is that os8 changed the hd format to hfs+.   I still like to keep my files safe until I get a system up and running.  Their is nothing safer that pulling the hard drive it just my preference.
