Hello, Foristas!

I have a PB 1400c/166 MHz with 64 Mb. I normally use it with OS 9.1, but I found a 320 Mb SanDisk PC Card, and installed OS 7.6.1 on it and it boots fine from it, and is faster now.
My problem: I have two Lucent/Orinoco/WaveLAN cards, a Silver and a Gold.
I have tried to use the Orinoco driver to connect to my Wi-Fi LAN, but it doesn't recognize the cards.
The green "ON" light is on, but the other light just lights at intervals, like looking for a network.
My ISP wireless router HAS to use encryption, but I get this error window when I put the "key" that I have to use (10 numbers, I have to put 0x in front to make it work):

Key 1 error:
Use 5 (or 13 with Gold card) printable characters.
10 (or 26 with Gold card) hex digits if preceded with 0x.

Same happens with my PB 190c.
The same cards work great with OS 8.1 and above.
Any help will be appreciated.
Saludos desde Mexico!

You can try changing your router's WEP passwords to compatible 13 character ones.  Do you own this router?

Own it, no I don't think so. I think that the company leases it to us. However, when they changed the old router for the wireless one, we kept the old one. But I think that in some part of the contract it specifies that it is a lease.
And no, I can't change the string of numbers that I had to put in the encryption. If it is not the exact string, it won't work.
On my Lombard with X.4 I just put the 10 numbers.
In the 1400c with 8.1, I have to put a zero and an x (0x) before the 10 numbers.
In 7.6.1 it gives me an error.
I tried the 190c that I have in a closet with the same results.
Pity, I would really like to surf wireless with 7.6.1, just for the fun of it.
I even made a 540c with the original PC Card cage work, albeit in 8.1.Just for fun.
Best regards.

I just remembered that the 190cs and the 540c worked on my old apartment.
I had a different ISP there, that didn't require encryption.
So my problem lies within the encryption part of the Lucent/Orinoco/Avaya/etc. software.
