Hi! Last weekend, I had the blessing of finding a SOnnet EG4-400-1M at a local auction. New, sealed in the anti static wrap. I payed $5. Awesome. So I brought it home, Stuck it an a DT G3, and installed 10.4 with XPostFacto, and I have a few questions that I though someone herew might be able to answer. I was expecting this, THe machine has UBER lag in the gui, but everythign else zips right along. Here are the SPecs of the Machine: 1 6gb WDon internal IDE 1 10.4 GB Fujitsu slave on secondary IDE a DVD/CD-RW Drive as Secondary master a SCSI Zip Drive 768MB RAM and the Built in video is the RageII+DVD If I were to pick up a PCI Radeon 7000, would it alleviate, por make the graphics lag bearable and, This system is the s*** in OS 9.1. Boots in under 45 Seconeds, after the RAM check. Its awesome. Heres the debate: I'll be getting a 400MHZ G3 ZiF soon. SHould I put that in this machine, and use OS 9.1 on it for Browsing and my general computing, os should I stick with X on it. I've ordered a Yikes! G4 mobo, and am goign to use that for the G4. Suggestions? |
