Hello, I have two computers currently running OS 7.6 and 7.6.1, A Performa 550 and Performa 630CD, respectively. I have read many bad things about these units but my experience is just the complete opposite. Only thing I have done is add RAM and replace the battery. Hell, I still have the original HD, keyboard and mouse for each. Right now each one is loaded with educational games and page layout apps. I used the Peforma 630CD, new in 1994, to Jan. 1999. Now the kids stuff is loaded on it. Great computer, fast, trouble-free, cheap, back then. The 550 was given to me, all original, has the 68030 chip.

Welcome to the System7Today forums. It looks like you are bringing a lot of experience with 68K Macs along and good experience is always helpful. Old Macs were very well built and exceedingly reliable and many old ones continue to run well. It is less common however to meet owners who have been using their hardware for as long. Nice to hear you have had such positive experiences with your Mac hardware.
