Hi folks, I just got an old 7100/80 Power Mac with OS 8.6 72mb ram - Internet Explorer 4.01 - Word 5.1. I'd like to make it run as fast as possible. Should I change to OS 7.6 ? Should I get Netscape 4.8 ? What's the latest Word that I can use that will be compatible ? any other tips ? thanks pvw |

Hello and welcome to System 7 Today! Yes, of course, we encourage you to try Mac OS 7.6... and yes I personally find Netscape 4.8 to be the best. At our software section, you will find information and updates for the latest versions of major apps that work with Mac OS 7.6, including Microsoft Office 98. Be sure to come back to the forums in the future for any further help! Posting in the Software and Hardware folders will usually get you the best results.
