I was looking at some of the videos. I do not think that anyone using System 6/7 would find their new water based UI as intuitive as they make it out to be. I wonder if a //ci would even have enough power to render one button in real time.

I was very surprised to see that my 2019 MPB will be supported. I pulled it out and turned on the look for developer releases and sure enough the macOS 26 developer beta was available for download and install. Of course there was a PPC Snow Leopard beta that never made it to final, so perhaps this one will not make it either.

The most exciting of the new OSes was the iPadOS 26, which looks to be a total redesign, finally bringing over a lot of Mac features, so with a keyboard and mouse you would almost have a Mac. I have felt that the iPad might be my final Mac and it looks possible.

I honestly haven't cared about anything new coming out of Apple since Steve Jobs left the company for the second time. I only care about their older stuff. On modern computers, I prefer to use Linux for most everything, except for gaming, then I boot into Winblows. But my gaming computer is 9 years old now, and can't play a lot of the new games, and I don't have the money to build a new one.

Same here, I totally lost interest in Apple some years after the Intel Switch. I did gather though that they are willing to give Intel Macs another year or two before moving on to ARM only. My initial reaction was "so soon again?" because to me, Intel Macs are still a new-fangled thingie :-D but briefly talked to @knezzen and he made the same point that @wove made - actually this much longer than they supported PPC after the switch to Intel.

In more general terms, there isn't really much reason to follow Apple WWDCs anymore, is there? If you remember the excitement with which we followed them during the late 90's and early 2000's, then you can only be disappointed with what it has become.
