I find it really cool that there's a whole forum dedicated to system 7. Anyways, hello everyone! I'm just your average old tech geek and phone collector. Happy to be here so far! :]

Hello and welcome to our friendly little community, Clonelocker!

Care to tell us some more about you? What countries are you from (if you want to disclose the info?). Are you on the forum on an actual retro Mac or from modern gear?

And yes, System 7 simply spanned almost a whole decade of developments at Apple, it absolutely deserves its own place if you ask me :-)

Nice to meet you Bolkonskij. I'm from America. As of now I'm currently typing this on some generic PC. I do plan on getting a retro mac from the performa series sometime soon though.

Welcome Clonelocker. Goes to show if you keep a forum around for twenty years, it will attract more people.

What sort of phones do you collect? We have a 60 year old Western Electric bakelite rotary dial wall phone hanging in the kitchen. The new phone setup will not use it anymore, which does not matter because the land line was dropped several years back. But we did get 55 years of use out of it and I am pretty sure none of the replace yearly smart phones will ever reach that age.

Anyway welcome to the forum, join in and have fun.

Hello wove! I'm mainly interested in flip phones. I have somewhere around 80 at the moment. Here's a photo of all of them (Excluding the Mitsubishi D505i)

Nice collection. Now I should warn you that if you get into collecting Old Performas you are going to need more space (and a wider angle lens for you camera). :)

Welcome! Are Japanese phones included in this collection? I (and many other people) thirst for the archival of software, particularly games, for i-mode (NTT DoCoMo), Yahoo! Mobile / Yahoo! Keitai and EZWeb Japanese services.

Hello Knezzen and Jatoba! About your question, I do collect Japanese phones. As of now I only have about 5 (Sony Ericsson C1002S, Panasonic P900iV, Sharp SH821i, Sharp 920SH, and Mitsubishi D5051). I do plan on importing another one either this or next month, probably the Nec N504iS

That's neat. If you find any cool games or software, I'd recommend backing them up. This stuff is usually deemed lost software, and there's a lot of great stuff released for those devices.

Welcome, welcome aboard our friendly Classic Mac site, Clonelocker! :)

We look forward to your Performa acquisition once you find a good one to get! And as Bolkonskij said, System 7 was around for a good minute, allowing for a wealth of compatible hardware and software alike :) thankfully, even 68k Macs got a taste of System 8, but most System 7 gear flies with good old System 7! ;)
