A lumber yard I worked at had an iMac running OS8 if I recall correctly. It ran in kiosk mode, demonstrating the latest in kitches. It had a touch screen. The touch screen was an aftermarket add-on that plugged into the USB port.

I have a touch screen monitor, which plugs into a computers USB port, which works fine with the OS 9 installed on my Mac Mini. However the touch screen does not work, probably because a lack of drivers.

I have not had any luck in my hunt for touch screen drivers for a Classic Mac OS and I was wondering if anyone here might have any idea what I am talking about and any idea where one might find such drivers.

@wove: You didn't mention the make of monitor here.

But if it was produced by the same company that made the screens for the kiosk iMac's, then you may be in luck ;)

The MG has USB drivers for Elo TouchSystems touch-screens.

The driver install set supports:
  • All Elo Entuitive brand touchmonitors with an internal USB controller
  • Elo's iMac with iTouch touchcomputer
  • Elo USB Controllers: IntelliTouch 2500U and AccuTouch 3000U
Notes: Works with iMac, G3 and G4 using either Mac OS 9.0.4 or OS 9.1 operating system (written when 9.1 was latest Mac OS, I assume 9.2.2 will also be fine).

Anyway, hope this is what you were looking for.
