You know, as I remembered the few places I did see MacPopUp and QuickPopUp, the MacOrchard did have it listed. It's interesting that they do comment that they don't see anything new listed between versions 4.1 and 4.5, so maybe what we have in the MG represents the latest versions for each platform (although the .dmg download I think was MIA) for Snow Leopard and up I think? (I added a modern link to it below) So I'm just hoping the ones we have now will do the trick ![]() (modern websites to access) http://macorchard.com/chat/QuickPopup.php |

Peeps! I need help with one of the QuickPopUp installers, specifically the Classic zip installer (download #9) with the latest version (4.5.1) ![]() When I unzip the archive, the installer loses its resource fork and refuses to run. Can anyone re-up it (maybe as a separate upload) maybe as a .bin or .hqx file? (I figure there's no need to stuff the installer since it's small enough already) Thanks a bunch everyone! I just want to try it with the online B-II System 7 and Mac OS 8 links on an old Chromebook to see if they talk to each other using the subdomain LAN trick!

Thanks so much, Cashed!! ![]() I fired-up both sites using a common subdomain, then dragged-and-dropped and installed it with unique regs and successfully sent a message and replied from one to the other! It may not sound earth-shattering but using the site and app together you can chat and play games with others! Now if we were able to host a LAN-friendly image we could virtually play networked 68k games and chat locally! ![]() My testing was very interesting and a little shocking! So in System 7.5.3 r2, it had additional message sounds and the option to speak the message while in Mac OS 8, neither of those were present. In this setup, when I opened a new message window and clicked the users icon in to the 'To:' section, I searched for new users and immediately found my 'other' Mac.Tip: just hit cancel right after searching or it won't stop searching
