I've got my list of vintage URLs in URL Manager format ready and now I am scratching my head where to post it? Should I just patch it into the app's Garden page? |

@68040 Thanks for the post! This System 7 app will be very useful to me as I also maintain genres of clickable links using TextEdit for all my OSX machines... that's very handy as I can just copy link files to other machines without updating each file per machine. I would love to check out your list of vintage URLs 😎 Maybe post it to the "System 7 Goodies" page here on S7T too? J7

So, I uploaded the darn thing here. I might also post it to the Garden, but I'll have to sleep over that. Its a very short, almost tiny list of my vintage favs, so I am likely gonna extend/change it in the future. For obvious reasons I removed the User ID/Pwd settings from the FTP entries. But if anybody (Bolkonskij?) points me to some entries that shouldn't be there still, then I'll purge 'em gladly. Now, please remember that the helper app for every protocol used (telnet, E-Mail, a.s.o.) must be installed and configured. All that URL Manager does is call that app - it has no other built-in Internet functions. Update: And now I find out that S7T doesn't like embedded FTP URLs. But I am tired and that makes me mean. So I'll let Sebastian figure this one out.

I moved your upload from Cornica to System 7 Today for now and changed the URL in your post. It can now be downloaded. You might want to consider getting a free 100 MB web space from the Mac Garden, which would be a nice transfer space AND/OR for a small website. Quite some collection of links in there! I'm on OSX this morning, so I opened it in my favorite text editor and went through it. Saw some interesting stuff, thanks for sharing! I wonder if I should extract the http link and turn them to BB Code for adding them to our List of sites that work with System 7. Alternatively, it might be a good idea to feed wiby.org the URLs and make it accessible to everyone. (though it requires the user to *know* what he is looking for vs. just browsing)

I posted my list to the Garden as well. Thus far there doesn't seem to be much interest in it there or on S7T.

It's just a lot of stuff in there and I want to look into exporting it in e.g. HTML as I'm not using URL Manager Pro. Like I said, thank you for sharing your work and I already spotted a few interesting URLs when I peeked into it. Unfortunately, few people on the Mac Garden seem to really use their Macs. Most appear to set up an emulator to try out this and that for a few mins only. Most of us here at S7T are already among the "power users" I fear. Would be nice to see that change but I don't know how. As we both know, there's a lot of life left in Mac OS and while you can't hang out in Discord or Facebook, you can pretty much do a looot of other things, especially many in which you can be creative.
