Accidentially ran into this on the Mac Garden. At first, I mistakenly believed it was a documentary / trivia disc. It is not. Reelect JFK is not really a classic game either. What is it about? You assume the role of John F. Kennedy. You survived the assasination that day in Dallas. (alternative history) You have an election coming up. You have the Civil Rights protests going on in your country You have lots of international crisis in Vietnam, Panama etc. Meanwhile you're trying to figure out what really happened in Dallas that day. It's a really interesting experience if you permit yourself the time/patience to sink into the year 1963. I found playing as JFK increasing my knowledge about those years of American history and it got me curious to learn more - which is probably the best thing to happen. Somebody else been trying this one out? (or is willing to give it at try) The CD image can be downloaded from the Mac Garden. |

Thx for the find and I'll give it a try if for no other reason then that I was born in the year JFK died and the political system back then still made sense. You knew what both parties stood for and you really had a choice. These days I wouldn't even know whom to vote for in the first place. Which I think is a terrible thing to say. 😔

Great. Give it a try and share your experience with us :-) (and please let's leave politics out, there's other places that focus on it - we focus on having fun with System 7 and the Mac ;-) )

Sorry Bolkonskij, I just have these really strong nostalgia cravings. I love looking at old pictures and remember the world how it used to be. Never thought I'd turn old geezer hard core, but hey it happened.  I'll give JFK a test over the weekend.

my grandmothers reaction too that day was a shrug of shoulders and i told you so comment to my grandfather... might try alternative history always entertains me

So @68040, have you beaten the game yet? :-) I kind of got distracted by my desire to finally play through the 4th Leisure Suit Larry game but I'm definitely going back to this one.

Recovered by now and am in the final stages of setting up my "new" ueber-system. Once that's done its game time again.
