There are a few pieces of old Mac hardware that are close to impossible to find. It is hard to predict what components will be of great future value. The cage in question was expensive and not seen all that useful when released, now it is highly desired and much sought after.

I wonder if the search is more Don Quixote tilting at a windmill, or Monty Python questing for the grail. :)

Indeed! It seems especially hard to find some of the stuff for the Powerbook 500 series of devices. Try to find that G3 upgrade card for the Powerbook 520 for example ... I know Newer Tech is supposed to have created one but I don't think I've ever seen one out in the wild.

Well, that is the nature of things. You just got to take what is available and keep voicing "Looking for this, looking for that" and eventually you might get lucky :-)
