Buying working 4 GB 44-pin IDE drives, ideally for no more than $5-$10/piece (not counting shipping, I'll pay shipping, ofc). Thanks! |

What about using a DOM (Disk On Module) instead? Sorry for hijacking your thread. If you need harddrives specifically, you need them etc

@Bolkonskij Indeed ![]() @Knezzen That's been recommended to me and honestly that'd work just as well. I'm just looking for an inexpensive solution for old laptops that have limited tolerance for large HDDs.

Too bad. I have some DOM pieces that Knezzen gave me some time ago, that I haven't been able to use. They should make nice inexpensive HDDs for your PowerBooks. I'd send them to you, but I'm located in Europe. I'm not sure that makes much sense due to shipping costs?

I'd imagine DOMs are pretty lightweight? If you were interested, we could see what would be possible. I'd gladly pay shipping + whatever price was negotiated if we could find a way to ship them for a reasonable price. Just let me know if that's something you'd be interested in pursuing.

I have no use for them and I got them for free from Knezzen, so I'll gladly pass them on for shipping costs if that helps a fellow System 7 fan. ;-) I need to check the sizes first and the shipping costs / process. An envelope should suffice. But last time I tried to ship something to the U.S. it was a hell of a bureaucracy with lots of paper work. I'll PN you.
