I've had some fun this weekend adding thoughts on some of the Macs in my collection to my website (thanks to Macintosh Garden's hosting!!). Hope you'll check them out here: http://home.macintosh.garden/~mac-cellar/ |

I've never even seen a "Maggie" and I've always wondered how nice Mac OS 9 on a "Dolores". If I recall correctly, the iMac G4 "Lamp" version does not add much to the Classic Mac OS compared to a G3, so it may not rev as high as some of the faster G4s that came out later on, but it sure looks really nice ![]() I also saw some possibility of booting from Mac OS 9 on faster "Lamp" iMacs with bigger displays! Now that might be worth looking into, too!

mac-cellar, that's a very nice page you've made! And I especially like reading the personal stories of fellow Macintosh users. A bit too less System 7 in my opinion ;-) but Mac OS really is great in almost every version. "Dolores" really reminded me of the computer I used during my college years in Munich. I had one of those including the external spaekers and would listen endlessly to mp3s while typing away at my term papers. Good times.

Bolkonskij, cballero: Thanks for reading! It was fun thinking back through those experiences. I have more coming... I didn't get to my Powerbook 5300ce or my Quadra 610 (currently in drydock for a restoration) - both delightful System 7 machines. Typing this on Delores right now, in between work emails!
