The only MMORPG I ever played was Meridian 59 back in the late 90's. So I'm all ears when it comes to giving Mac users a ticket to visit Tos, Barloque & else. You're right about it working on a 486 @ 75 Mhz. That was the original version though. Later versions upped the requirements. I'm not sure we'd be still in the realms of System 7 Macs. Is it still closed source? While it would be feasible, I think porting M59 isn't going to be an easy one. Biggest question mark for me is the networking part. I've never tinkered with Open Transport, but Knezzen did and he wasn't exactly excited about it ![]() That doesn't mean it's impossible. You just have to stick with it, root for a Mac port, find the sources, find a dev and keep him/her motivated because it'll likely not be done on 2 weekends ;-)

Sorry to venture off topic, but am curious as to why you installed Win2000 on a 2008 MacBook Pro. My 2008 MacBook Pro is running Catalina, it could run Win10 and just about any Linux/BSD distro you toss at it. Win2000 is not a bad OS, but with so many choices it strikes me as an unusual choice. A current or somewhat current MacOS on a 2008 MacBook Pro would probably run Win2000, or XP, or 98 fine in virtual box. Of course there are excellent emulators that would run System 7 or about any older you choose.

Well @Wove windows 10 is slow on edge and 11 (hacked to run of course) take 5 minutes too load a page (probably driver issues) 7&Vista are memory hogs XP feels like a fisher-price toy and 2000 is fast sleek and truly a 90's os

Just going through my old stuff I found a screenshot I took from my account when i was playing Meridian59 actively: https://images.macintosh.garden/2021/10/02/arm.jpg It sure would be fun to play it again and even to do so on a Mac. But then I guess times have changed and so have the people. Meridian was a very social MMORPG and not as competitive as others. Not sure it'd be the same. Anyway, just had to share this. If someone will port it to Mac OS I'll start again though
