Hi! I saw this part of the forum, so I guess that it would be nice to introduce myself.  I come from Croatia and I have been using Mac OS X for almost a year now. Before that, I was using Windows and I am so glad that I made the switch, OS X is sooo much better and nicer to use.  I wish I made the switch earlier...Since I love old computers, I have decided to get some old Macs in order to see what I have missed because I was stuck on Windows for so long. Currently I have two PowerBooks 100 (They are both in need of repair, I believe one of them has bad hard drive and another one constantly has black display), PowerBook 180 (it works perfectly ) and PowerBook G3 Lombard. In a week or to I will get an upgraded Power Macintosh 6500 and I am really looking forward to it. As my main computer, I use MacBook, 2009 unibody model and I absolutely love it. I am really happy that this page exists, it is nice to know that there are more of us who have passion for old Macs. How are you using them? I am planning to use this Power Macintosh for playing old games, writing emails, listening to music. What other uses are you suggesting? I would really like to push it to its limits and see what it can do. What are your thoughts about these Macs - how durable are they? Should I use them just as any other computer, or would it be better to store them somewhere safely and turn them on only when I feel nostalgic? Thanks!

I live in Greece and i can tell you that almost no one had a mac computer at the 90s. I started investigating the apple computers back to 2007 because i wanted something different. Now i only use mac computers. I have an imac 20" 2 Ghz which i use for the internet, for listening to music,watching movies etc. but my big passion is the old macs. I have an imac g3 at 500mhz with 648 mb ram, 20 gb hard disk, 24x cd rom drive and ati video card 3d with 16 mb ram. I have also a mac performa 6116. I bough these two old macs for the old games and especially adventures like monkey island, gabriel knight, last express etc. I've always had the curiosity how good are the old mac games and now i can tell you that they are great. Maybe greater than pc. Bigger resolution (640x480 while the vga was using 320x200) and better sound. I use especially my mac performa which it has the following characteristics: ppc 60 mhz but i have installed the sonnet nubus g3 at 500 mhz, 136 mb ram, 4.2 gb hard disk, 4x cd, mac os 7,6 and mac os 9,04. I have also bought a roland mt-32 device. Great music quality!!. Sometime i will look for an apple audiovision display because i read that it is the best crt 14" apple monitor and now i have a typical vga philips monitor.
