...where you could assign almost any activity to any sound of your own choosing?
It was a third party control panel and I used to have my PowerBook 160 go "aahhhh" whenever I plugged in the power cord to recharge it :)

• Hello master, what would you like to do today - when booting up
• "Dave ...I'm affraid I can't do that" - when shutting down
• "uuhhhh" - when inserting a floppy disc
• "Dave ...my mind is going ...I can feel it" - when ejecting a floppy

... man I miss those days :)

Does anyone have a screenshot of that old control panel or perhaps a name? I would love to find the company who did it, or just a version of it for Mac OS X

Can anyone help?

thanks!

It turns out the MyAppleSpace community also knew a lot more than I expected about these old stuff, so they linked to SystemSounds, xounds and Sounds4Fun also.

Thanks for your help, appreciate it. Those really were the good old days wasn't it?

:) sigh

This thread brings back memories!

SoundMaster was the CP and I had

'I'm completely operational' at startup.
'Game Over Man' for shutdown.
'Looks bad' for faulty disk.
Water for disk inject.
Golf swing on delete.

Must have run into some incompatability because I've not used it for ages.
