I recently send an email to RealBasic asking if they would sell licenses of their older versions to hobbyists. Unfortunately no. I guess the legal risk versus payoff is not there. It's a shame cause it's really an amazing program for programming on classic macs. Hi Richard, At this time we are unable to offer low cost REALbasic licenses of older versions since they are not supported. I do know that a lot of our users might be interested in talking to you about this subject. Why don't you make a post about it on our forums: forums.realsoftware.com. I bet you would get some good people to talk to. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Dana Dana Mason Director of Marketing REAL Software |

Chipmunk Basic is available for the Classic Mac OS. That has always been an open application. It does only run in a window however, so is not so much for creating general Mac applications. Future Basic from Staz Software has been released as freeware and it is an ide and can create full blown Mac Applications. (Staz software is based in Louisiana the hurricane that hit New Orleans destroyed Staz home and necessitated his turning his attention to other matters.) bill
