I have a Duo Dock II for a 2300c that I want to use with a higher res monitor. Could I put in the Apple High Res NuBus card into the DDII's NuBus slot to achieve this? It seems really simple...too simple. Would it work? What monitors could I run with that card? Thanks! |

I had a duo 230 with the original duo dock and loved it. If duo dock II is the same as duo dock I, and my memory has not gone to Kraft, you can put a color card in and also a second hard drive. I'm sure that mine had a color card, video capture card and another hard drive and that I made the duo dock hard drive the start up drive so when in the dock it booted from there and called on the color card to the monitor. When removed from the dock it reverted to the internal hard drive.

I don't know about that card specifically but I've had many third party video cards in my Docks.

Thank you for your replies. That dock is an amazing thing it sounds like. dpaanlka, did the 3rd party video cards let you run higher resolutions?

Yes, all resolutions and colors supported by your card will be supported in the dock. The Dock literally turns your Duo into a full desktop computer. It will support almost any card of any type you put into it.

Thanks for the info. That is good to hear. Wow, that dock is quite something. It would be nice if they were still made- giving my PowerBook G4 a PCI bay wouldn't be so bad!

I'm not sure if I should have started a new thread for this, but since it pertains to the Duo Dock, I thought I'd keep it here. Anyway, I have a RasterOps 24XLTV online, which claims to have a video input cable as well. Has anyone used these with a Duo Dock II or a Mac IIci? The Mac driver museum isn't clear whether or not it carries the driver. They have a driver for the 24XLTV II, but the card I'm looking at says. 24XLTV 1.4 Does anyone know if the II driver will work?

This is from LowEnd Mac. It looks like a listing of the compatible software, which it says is at the driver museum. Begin Quote from LowEndMac: Software RasterOps video card drivers can be downloaded from the Mac Driver Museum, where ShrinkWrap disk images are available for RasterOps Graphics Install v3.2 and v3.3, MoviePak, MoviePak2, and VideoTime. End Quote bill

Thank you, Bill. That helps a lot. I was surprised how little information I could find about Raster Ops in general online.
