i didn't know that too may posts are bothering this site.. and now!!..i got it! i got 7.6.1 on my 520c.. it works great!.. my god...! macweb works really fast.!!.. |

finally installing 7.6.1 clean went to hell..... i failed... the network setting was out of my control again.. it worked i reinstalled 7.5.3 but it didn't now... so i downloaded the boot disk 7.5.x from this site" http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/bootdisks.html" and booted 520c. i ran the "apple HD SC Setup" program.. i don't know what this program do.. so i just clicked initiate button! and done!.. my 520c's hdd is formated..now.. /// well one thing is solved... formatting hard drive... but!..what do i do now? is there a way to install system 7 without cdrom but Floppy? if there is plz let me know!.. |

last post i wrote that i copy the 7.5.3 files tomy 520c . there was already 7.5.5 installed so that i can't install7.5.3 (undergrade) but there was a option called Custom install i tried it only system software checked! and it worked!.. system 7.5.3 is installed. but there still was pig language.. that i can't solve.. maybe this will be gone by clean install.. |

i run the smi file but i can't install 7.5.3 because 7.5.5 already installed... how can i solve this problem?? idon't have any scsi cdrom for 520c.. and network cannot work! and my extension file system is broken so i have to press 'Shift" when i boot 520c... |

Operating System / how can i install 19 system7 SMi files?

i downloaded 7.5.3 binary files fro apple support site. and i move this files to 520c from Macbookpro by floppy disks! it is system.7.5.3.smi.bin i did stuffit and it turned out system.7.5.3smi now i see what smi files means! self mount image! But how can i use this files?? it is separated into 19 files. and i don't know how to use this! Do i have to use Disk utility in 520c? someone plz explain procedure to me in detail! FYI i cannot reach my macbookpro by network because 520c's network configuration is broken when i updated system to system7.5.5 So there is no way to use network service...eventhough i have ethernet transthing (aaui-UTP) . Help me!^^ plz |

i read the replies..all replies are helpful to me. and i have usb floppy disk drive connected to Macbookpro and i am using it now! and my powerbook 520c have a Floppy disk drive in it! this morning i downloaded the system 7.5.3 which is free from apple support website. It is 19 image files . each of them is separated in 1.4mb for 3.5inch 2hd disk! and i have only 2 disks.... and i don't know how to use it although i downloaded it! the file name is "system 7.5.3 01of19.smi.bin" i know it is a binary file but how can i use this? plz give me some tips.!! in mabook pro i double clicked it and the filename changed in to "system 7.5.3 01of19.smi" how can i use this fileS?? |

Operating System / connecting X's DVDRom to 520c? possible?

last day i screwed my powerbook's system (7.5.3) here is the thing i just installed the update file system 7.5.5 from this site.. but i forgot that i've used system 7 (koeran) and that happened all characters are broken into the some kind weird charcter that i couldn't understand. and i don't have any scsi cdrom.. i only have ethernet trans thing! (AUI-30 to UTP) finally some idea stroke me. what happened if i can connect my MBP(x-=10.5.2) to 520c over utp cable sharing CDROM but there is some unsolved problem , network configuration is broken too! and i can't fix it till now! but i want to know that can happen!? is it possible i can connect MBP's DVDrom to my 520c? and is it bootale from DVDRom over using utp cable??? i just want to reinstall my system 7.5.3(korean) P.S! is there more system version free? than system 7.5.3 ??/ i want to know two or three things?/ plz help me! i need your expertise plz reply this post! |

i am a beginner at system 7 i usually use macbook pro and ibook-g3-500(dual-usb) last week i finally got my powerbook 520c through ebay.. it seems find and have 800mb hdd, and 12mb ram the cpu is just basic.. system 7 was already installed in powerbook. i touched everything but i didn't change any conditions except mactcp because i want irc on my powerbook . but i touched something Controlpanel- Monitor i draged and moved some smallwindow it said "1" on it! then my track pad's pointer is moving so fast and i couldn't move by myself... someone please help me! or e-mail me! pinkclouds@naver.com HELP!!!! i need your expertise.!! |
