with flat connection (Ethernet) I donwloaded suggested update for system 7.5.5; but after installing open transport 1.3  my PCI Ethernet card stopped to work.

There are some particular setting zith that program?

I dicided to make a complete system restore; now open transport version is 1.1.1 and PCI card is working.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

PS after complete system restore I notice that PCI Network Legacy Loader extension is in both directories Enabled and Disabled...
(but this time PCI is working)

Thanks for your quick reply,

The driver was without installer, so i put it in

Directory System -> Extensions.

Using extensions manager i can see:

PCI Network Legacy Loader

but using TCP/IP i see only:

Appletalk (MacIP)
MacPPP

nothing about Ethernet.

What could i check?

Thanks

HI all,

I have a Power Mac 5500/225 without Ethernet card, so I decide to upgrade my Mac with a realtek PCI card 8139D.

Then I downloaded (with a dialup) from S7T the driver.

I used stuffit for decompression and diskcopy for mount image; then i moved extension file in the extension directory; but under TCP/IP i can't see any change..

What should i do with extension file?
