New Member Welcome / Hello!

Hello everyone! Since as long as I've been using computers, I was a PC user. I had heard about Macs, but I didn't want to learn another OS. When I was a kid, I thought they made computers specifically for education because of their logo. In the recent years, I've been doing more advanced stuff, and have simply had it with BSOD's, pointless errors, and buggy drivers. My first Mac, an iMac, will be arriving soon. About 1 year ago, I started experimenting with virtualization. I had fun bringing back the (sometimes not-so-good) memories of Windows 3.1 and DOS. Lately, I've been having tons of fun using System 7 in SoftMac emulating a Macintosh Quadra 630. I never realized how great the classic Mac OS was? I have a version of MacPaint from 1985 that beats an up-to-date version of Windows Paint in ease-of-use, features, and speed any day of the week. I'm somewhat new to System 7 and need some help with some things like getting sound to work and changing the desktop background. (I think my version is missing some stuff from the control panels) Anyway, that's pretty much my story. |
