Relatively long time mac user, since about 1994. Only have had the "pleasure" of owning one windows system, 2 if you include my 7200/120 PC Compatible. Still have the first mac I owned, an old IIcx, and just got a pile of old powermacs from a dumpster. Most don't work, but the ones that do I am going to get running, but I am more interested in using older systems, like 7.6 instead of the os9 that they have on them. Thanks for all of your guys info and knowledge, it is great to meet a bunch of fellow older hardware users!! Paul
2 Hardware / 631 cd problems

Hey, your topic steered away from your cd problem. Did you figure it out? The drive is fried, mine did the same thing in my 630CD. Tray worked fine, cd just wouldn't spin. Bought a new one on ebay. Quite simple to replace, to. After you take front off of machine, there is one screw to remove, then the drive literally just slides out, it is plugged in to a plug that is mounted in the case, not seperate connectors. I have drive that should work, if you want it I can list it on ebay, there is always some on there. You need a 300i , at least that would be the direct replacement, but is is only 2x. Faster ones should work, I believe. Good luck. Paul
