Hello! Just a week using my 7300/180 with Mac OS 7.6.1 and everything OK. My question is: Can I install an USB PCI card and use it with System 7.6.1? I know that is possible under Mac OS 8.5 and 9, but with 7... If I copy the USB extensions on my 7.6.1's System Folder, would they work? Somebody has tried to do this? Thank´s. |

That´s not the iMac, it was my 7300 when I install again System 7.6.1. You were right, now it's really fast, much more than OS 9.1 days. I was browsing the Mac OS 7.6.1 CD and found a folder named "AT EASY UPDATE". It has four files, "At Easy Update 2.0.3" and "At Easy Update 3.0.3" and two Read Ony Simple Text Files with information. Then I browse the other installation CD, System 7.5.5 and nothing. I will continue looking for that app. I have a few tens of CD´s that came with the Mac's magazines of 90 years ... Maybe... At least, using Photoshop and lllustrator it's enough for me now... I cannot run Final Cut, but I´ll try Premiere... Now I´m looking for more RAM on eBay and maybe another HDD... Thanks again and we are in contact. Vicente. |

I´m on crisis, I´ve sold my G5 to buy a new Mac later and now I´m face to face again with my first computer ever: a Power Mac 7300/180. No, I can´t run Mac OS X, and Mac OS 9.1 is a little slow for that machine... But S7T bring me back to life. System 7.6.1 again... Why not? I can´t wait to arrive at home and seat in front of that machine and install again OS 7.6.1 ... Thank´s S7T!!! |

Hi everybody, plase be patient with me, my english isn´t good, but I´ll try... My first computer (first of all) was a Power Mac 7300/180 that I still continue using without problems. Later I bought a Macintosh SE with System 6.0.3 (or so.. fanatic?, yes...), and a year and a half ago I bought a Power Mac G5 that I sold to buy another Mac in the next months. Imagine my situation, until 15 days ago I was using OS X 10.4.8 on a G5 and now I am temporarily with my old 7300. It has installed system 9.1 but it is quite slow. Looking for in Internet I found them and now I'm going to follow its advice. Now I know that Mac OS 9 isn't the best for this machine. The 7300 originally have systems 7.5.5, 7.6.1 and 8 original CD's. It has 160MB of RAM, 2GB HDD, 2MB VRAM and a 604e/180MHz CPU. I don't bore them more and I put myself to read this forum right now. |
