Software / nevermind
December 31, 2006, 02:17 |
actually it also happened with a bunch of smi.bin files, but I looked around, reinstalled again and discovered that I hadn't done the 7.6 to 7.6.1 upgrade. did that, and made sure to save to desktop or harddrive instead of letting stuffit expander act right on the download as a helper application and bob's your uncle...all good. December 31, 2006, 01:19 |
quite a few (not all) .sit files are causing stuffit expander 5.5 to crash the system with "system error 11" powerbook 1400 with 7.6.1 and stuffit expander 5.5 I've reinstalled expander a couple times and I think I've deleted the old installations of expander 4 etc. any ideas? |

New Member Welcome / I've got two
December 31, 2006, 00:36 |
two 1400's (one a cs one a cs/133) one came with 7.6.0 other came 7.6.1 both running 7.6.1 now. one may end up going to 8.6 if I can't kludge the old orinoco/wavlan drivers to work with my rebranded card (see my other post) |

New Member Welcome / hoping to avoid a "me too"

I also have one of these 2wire rebranded agere/lucent /orinoco cards, old v6 driver (for use under 7.6.1) doesn't seem to recognize the 2wire as an orinoco and exits, saying install the card, double click icon and turn on appleshare, but not letting you install. anybody got a Hack to get 2wire/rebrands to work with the old drivers? edit the driver? flash the card with bona-fide orinoco firmware? otherwise I just may have to step up to 8.6 |
