Operating System / Earliest version of OS Classic with USB?

The latest USB card support driver by Apple I can find on the internet supports 8.6 - 9.2.2. I know there is a driver that can support 8.1. I believe it was an earlier version of the same driver. I'd like to get a hold of this version if possible. Or even better, is there a known USB driver (3rd party or apple) for 7.6.1? |

I don't think 7.1.1 was available in any other language but NA English. I'm pretty sure that System 7.1.1 supposed to be dubbed "System 7 Pro" and only meant for certain Powerbooks. |

So let me get this straight, you want the PC program to make HFS partiitions that you Mac can read? If that's the case, give TransMac (shareware) a go. There is CD burning functionality there. It supports creation of HFS and HFS+ format CDs. MacImage (shareware) will do the same task. Alternatively, if you don't want to spend money on a shareware product, just make an HFV volume with HFV explorer. Rename to the HFV extension to ISO and burn to disk. It works. I have done it a few time before. It doesn't support HFS+ though. To make hybrid CDs, use Hybridator (also freeware). This will simply merge an ISO9660 file with an HFS volume (such as an HFV volume as mentioned above) to make a hybrid CD rom image. Hope this helps. |

When you insert the CD, does the CD ROM drive make any odd/strange noises that are out of the normal? Can you also provide some more information on the CD drive? Is it the original internal cd drive that shipped with the machine? |

Dan, I think he's just collecting versions of system 7 for novelty and/or archiving purposes. I think you'll find that the System 7.5.4 update is the 'hardest' to get a hold of because it was only released for a few days by apple then it was pulled. I actually managed to find a copy though

Give JPEGView a shot. It's similar to Jade. In fact, Jade works as a kind of 'clone' of JPEGView. I've had better luck with JPEGView personally. |

I've located 3 different reduced ATi ROMs on Mac Elite. I will give them a go. Will the v208 update be able to run on a 64kb rom card? Does it even need the update on it to work? Is there a reason why the 64kb roms don't function well with older macs? |

Okay, I managed to get my PC to boot into DOS environment with the BIOS graphics settings changed as you suggested. I tried a 128k mac rom and I get a write error at 65536 bytes. Is the ROM file too big for the card? |

The PC card that I was trying to reflash wasn't being used as the primary display at the time of the BIOS beeps (I was using AGP Radeon card). I think it might just be my PC motherboard failing to recognise the PCI card or somthing. As for Graphiccelerator, is there an OS 9 version? Or any other OS 9 compatible flash utilities? |
