Thank you very much! She can of course stream the majority of the music on SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/user-375194295/sets/silk-dust-soundtrack If she likes it, the offer on Itch.io includes a few bonus. |

Thank you very much!!! It requires indeed a great effort to say the truth, but it was fun. I probably spent more time on the soundtrack than on the game itself... |

If you will do something similar, I'll let you know, of course. But for the moment, I'm not planning to release a physical edition of the soundtrack. However, in the downloadable version on Itch.io I have included some inlays that can be printed for cassettes, CD and MiniDisc if you want to prepare your own :-) |

Thank you! It's an idea! Maybe one day I will prepare a small run of cassettes, I once did this for a small game for the unexpanded VIC20, it was fun! |

Thank you! Most of the music is done with fairly modern instruments. I used Ableton Live, then Logic Pro as DAW's. The orchestral bits come from the BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover, the piano sounds come from UVI some sounds are form Arturia Analog Lab V. I have an Arturia master keyboard, some sounds come from E-MU Proteus/1 and Proteus/2 (1989 and 1990, respectively). On one or two occasions, I also used a module I built myself that allows to control two SwinSID's (sort of a recreation of the legendary Commodore SID chip) via a MIDI interface. I built an Amiga MIDI interface myself, but I could not find a MIDI sequencer powerful enough that I would not feel too restrained when using it (I tried MusicX, but it is way too basic). I should try to see on the Mac side. |

Hi! I finished the work on the Silk Dust Original Soundtrack. You can listen it on the SoundCloud link I gave before. If you like it, you can download all the files (plus a bonus track called Turin Suite) for a small fee: https://darwinne.itch.io/silk-dust-original-soundtrack |

Uhm, the MOD format would be very interesting, but the way the pieces are written would make them quite difficult to convert (the last one is for example for a full orchestra, with more than 25 tracks, tempo changes and all). I have built a MIDI interface for my Amiga 500, though and I am planning to give a try to a tracker a day or another, but I haven't yet took the time to properly explore this world. To listen them while playing the game, I would go for a CD or a cassette. I heard someone who even went recording them on Minidisk, I loved the idea! |

Hello! I hope you enjoyed the game. In the last few months, I have been composing music for the game. The work is not complete and I still want to compose one piece or two more, but here is a playlist: https://soundcloud.com/user-375194295/sets/silk-dust-soundtrack There are pieces for characters and places of the game. The last I composed is called Varenna Suite and is written for full orchestra, quite a challenge for me. I hope you will like it! |

Yes, I regularly test the games on two emulators during game development: - Mini vMac, where I usually try System 6.0.8. - Basilisk II, where I have System 7.6.1 installed. In general, when I am satisfied of the result, I use the real hardware. I have an SE/30 available and a Power Book 180 as well. I also have a LC III, but it needs to be recapped I think. I also have an SE, at my mother's house, a little far from where I live. Concerning the game, I hope that you will receive yours very soon, but I don't know if Poly.play has begun to ship yet. Better be patient! |

Hello and thank you very much! I can support such a large number of computers and architectures only thanks to amazing cross development tools. For the classic Macintosh line of computers, I used this compiler: https://github.com/autc04/Retro68 Not only the compiler is amazing by itself, but I have been helped a lot by one of the most active developers, feeling welcome. |

Hi to all, this is my first post here. I'm Davide Bucci, the author of Silk Dust and The Queen's Footsteps. I'm glad to see that the my games are appreciated. I just wanted to remind that you can download all my games for free on my web page: http://davbucci.chez-alice.fr/index.php?argument=varie/silk/silk.inc or on Itch.io (modern browser required): https://darwinne.itch.io/silk-dust I personally love physical editions, but this will allow to test the game in advance to see if it fits your needs or if you like it. If appreciate it, Poly.play has done as always an amazing distribution work, with some very nice goodies. In any case, I am a longtime lover of compact B/W Macintoshes, so yes, this is exactly the kinds of computers I had in mind when I prepared the game. I tried it on my SE/30. The game should run on System 6, too (but if someone can test it, a confirmation is appreciated). BTW, I tried to write some music inspired from the game. This is the theme of Villa Monastero, where the game starts (modern browser required): https://soundcloud.com/user-375194295/villa-briccorosso and this is the Augusto's theme (Emilia's father): https://soundcloud.com/user-375194295/augustos-theme Hopefully, you can hear that he deeply loves and respects his daughter but he is somewhat concerned by her adventurous nature. I am currently writing other music that I'll post on Soundcloud in the next few weeks. Cheers, D. |
