1 Classifieds / WTB-Powerbook 5300 Power Supply Boards and 5300ce video cable

I have a Powerbook 5300ce and a Powerbook 5300c, both of which need a functioning power supply board.  The 5300ce also needs the video cable.  If you have any of these for sale please let me know.  Thank you.

Bolkonskij,

In the late 1980's very few attorneys had computers on their desks.  Most either wrote on legal paper or dictated and the word processing pool would turn it into text over night.  The primary reason my firm chose Macs was that it would make it easier for the dinosaurs to start using computers.  And it was.  The primary program we used was Microsoft Word 5 since word processing was the main thing we did.  When e-mail came along we used Quickmail.  I do not recall Trapeze being used but I was just a low level grunt at that point.  I am not familiar with the law firm you mention though I do remember Apple filming a piece at our firm showing how easily Macs could be integrated into a law firm.

Mac-Cellar,

Alas, my Powerbook 5300ce is also headless due to problems with the video cable.  I have a Powerbook 5300C or CS that I am trying to get to run but am having difficulty finding a working power supply board.  You wouldn't happen to have a spare?

Thank you.

Never noticed that before.  Thank you very much.

I have, and occasionally drive, a 1959 Triumph TR3A and a 1959 MGA.  The technology is, umm, primitive.

One of the things I find very helpful on the 68kMLA website (and MacOS 9 Lives) is the sidebar showing new posts.  It provides a quick and easy way to see what is new.

Hello All,

I first used a Mac when I borrowed a buddy's Macintosh Plus (I think) to write a paper in law school in New Orleans in 1988. When I got my first job as an attorney in Sacramento in 1989 we were all provided SE/30's and my former classmates working in New York, Chicago, etc were envious (few attorneys had computers on their desks at that time and almost none had Macs).  Been with Apple ever since.

About 10 years ago in an act of random nostalgia I purchased an SE/30 had it recapped and have been working on it since.  I am currently running OS 7.6.1 and have an external monitor connected via a Radius Pivot card.  I also use a SCSI2SD and a ROM-inator.  I am back now in Louisiana after 30 years practicing law in California and am getting back into my old Macs.  In addition to a Powerbook G3 Lombard I own a Powerbook 5300C and a Powerbook 5300CE both of which I am trying to get running so if you have parts to sell and/or wisdom to impart on these models, please let me know.

I am so glad to see this site revived and plan to participate fully going forward.

Thank you.

Mike

Thank you for the tutorial on Norton Disk Doctor, that was just as good as the tutorial on MacNFS.

Hello,

I am running System 7.6.1 on an SE/30 and, in the Finder have multiple files with "Last Modified" dates in the early 1920's.  Any suggestions how to correct this?

Thank you.
