1 Software / Need help/info about "SuperClip"...
August 26, 2007, 14:53
Sorry, I should have given more info in the first post.

While installing it (SuperClip) some weeks ago I did a Google on just about any combination I could come up with, trying to find info about the software and it's developer. I found almost nothing.

Some sites had dead links to Tipirneni's site and some outdated download suggestions. I also found an article where he (don't remember where and can't find it again) stated that some of the software he wrote was relased as freeware because he didn't support/develop them anymore. The links to the free versions was outdated.

The only thing I find now when Googling is another person looking for one of the other app's Tipirneni produced:

2 Software / Need help/info about "SuperClip"...

Hi Mac“ers!

I installed the 30 day trial version of the old shareware "SuperClip" (v1.7.6) by Kishore Tipirneni and now I'm hooked.
This system-enhancer is now freeware and no longer developed. But after scanning da net for the free version, update or serial, it seems impossible to get it. The download-link many info-sites point to is no longer in use and I found it nowhere else.

Are there any S7T-inhabitants out there using this nice little piece of code willing to help me out?

My 7.6.1-machine is a Performa 5260 (PPC 603e/100MHz/1,2GB HD/64MB RAM).

I also got a PM8500/180 tucked away (breaks my heart), cause I need it's 17"AppleVision with my G4...but I intend to run 7.6.1 on the 8500 when a new Apple-display enters my world...

I bought a 22" iiyama VisionMaster Pro 510-monitor with my G4 back in 2000 cause it had great reviews. And the longest estimated lifespan I could find - 18 years(!). That (of course) was a lie. I managed to squeeze 6 years out of it before it literally went up in smoke...one could smell the burnt powersupply for a week...
My old AppleVision is manufactured in 1995 and still going strong...I'll stay with Apple from now on. Case closed.

(My G4 is runnin' OS9.2.2 and OSX10.4.10, and my MBP is for obvious reasons only capable of da "Tiger" with intel fur)

Oh, I forgot, I'm gonna get the original iMac in a week or two. Maybe I'll run OS8.6 on that one so I get the whole spectra  -OS7 through X!

4 New Member Welcome / Hi there Mac'ers!

Well, I guess I'm a little late introducing myself, being a member and "casual browser" since last year and all, but better late then...

I'm a 37 years old dedicated Mac-freak since -96. Right now I'm sittin' in front of my old Performa5260 runnin' OS761.

What I find most amazing about this machine is that it's still goin' strong - and totally original! (well, the internal battery changed once.) The HD, memory, screen and all never seems to wanna retire, even though I use it on an almost daily basis. Nowadays mostly as a "typewriter" when my other mac's  are busy doin' heavier stuff. Apple sure know how to build premium quality thingies!
(My other machines are a PM8500/180, a PMG4/500/AGP and a MBP17"/2.33/intelcore2duo)

I have a lot of old SCSI-based hardware (mainly audio-devices), which I still use and that's another reason for keeping it plugged in, down in the darkest corner of my LAN. Strangely enough I also find it somewhat (hmmm) meditative, just sitting and clicking away with it when I have nothing better to do. Playing old games, trying old apps and so on. Weird uh?

So when I stumbled upon S7T I knew I've found da place for me! I've solved many problems using the info provided here, while trying to keep my seniors happy'n'ticking.

Thanx for a great site for us ol'timers!

Keep on Macin' Folks!
