Operating System / System File Extensions
July 27, 2012, 07:21 |
I've finally gotten around to returning my SE/30 to a state of proper being, but there's one problem- I never thought that it would happen after SisamiMac, and I threw most of my gear- System 6/7 disks, scripting disks, my keyboard and mouse, my scsi hard drives, EVERYTHING but the actual Mac on eBay for more hasty classic Mac owners than myself. My issue is that without a system of that age, there was no way to read, create or write to a System 7 drive. I began to use vMac and the exporter software utility to bring the files back out from .image files, but there's a problem- they all lack file extensions, and on top of that, they seem to be much smaller than they should. Is there a better way to go about retrieving the contents of the startup System 7 .image files other than exporting generic files from an emulator and renaming them? If not, could someone provide the file extensions of the installer disk contents? |
