Hardware / Works!

So I would like to confirm what Cisco CB20a CardBus Adapter in PowerBook gives you high-speed Wi-Fi at least in OS9. It connects to my Cisco Wi-Fi AP with 54Mbps and gives better performance than standard AirPort card (802.11b). |

I know about wireless bridge option but I'm interested in real wi-fi. Not only because of less devices powered on, but also for mobility with PowerBook. |

Hardware / Hi-speed wireless in Classic possible!?

By doing research for building my PowerTower Pro system I've searched for information about 802.11 wireless options for Mac OS Classic. I found no any bit about support of 802.11a networking but it exist. In theory it could give you 54Mbps in Classic. The only compatible adapter I know is Cisco CardBus CB20A 802.11a card (~$10 on eBay). Software, supplied with it, supports OS8 and I hope will run on OS7.6 at least on PowerBooks. What do you think on this? |
