Thank you a lot!
It seems that I have missed your post until now, sorry!
I have tried that program, but it still does not show any widescreen resolutions…
So it seems that I'll have to live with black borders.
Thanks again for giving me this advice, it was promising. :)
3 Classifieds / WTB: PCI Ethernet card for Performa 6400

Did you consider getting a Comm II Ethernet card instead?
I've got mine fairly cheaply on eBay half a year ago and it works like a charm. :)

haha, you should have made the poll multi-choice, because many people have several different Macs. ;)

I am using my Power Macintosh 6500 with Samsung T220 widescreen monitor and it works very well. :) I have an ATI Rage graphic card in the Mac.
Of course, there are black borders both left and right, but thad doesn't bother me too much. :)
6 Software / System 7 compatible eMail provider?
June 08, 2011, 21:22
Thank you a lot, it works flawlessly! :):):)
I have read your previous post, but I hoped that there is another solution to that problem... But this one should be fine. :)

And regarding MobileMe - I am sad that it will be shut down, but since iCloud is going to replace it, I am actually looking forward to all new features that we are going to get. :)
Just hope that I will still be able to send emails from my old Mac. :)

Thank you a lot for the iDisk suggestion, I will definitively look into it. :)

Another question about MobileMe on OS9 - Outlook Express does not load any folders besides Inbox... :/ It seems that Apple uses some strange protocols here, because gmail works fine...
Do you have any other email client to suggest for me to try?

Thank you again for your help, I appreciate it a lot. :)
7 Software / MobileMe on OS 9
June 08, 2011, 18:17
Hi!
I am trying to setup Outlook Express to work with MobileMe, and although imap works just fine, I just couldn't get the smtp to work...:(
I followed these directions:
http://email.about.com/od/accessingmobilememail/f/What-Are-The-Mobileme-Mail-Me-Com-Smtp-Settings.htm
but it didn't help...

Gmail works fine, both imap and smtp, but since I upgraded to MobileMe recently, I would really like to use it on my Power Mac 6500. :)

Thanks for any advice!
8 New Member Welcome / Greetings from Croatia :)

Hi!
I saw this part of the forum, so I guess that it would be nice to introduce myself. :)
I come from Croatia and I have been using Mac OS X for almost a year now. :) Before that, I was using Windows and I am so glad that I made the switch, OS X is sooo much better and nicer to use. :D I wish I made the switch earlier...
Since I love old computers, I have decided to get some old Macs in order to see what I have missed because I was stuck on Windows for so long. :)
Currently I have two PowerBooks 100 (They are both in need of repair, I believe one of them has bad hard drive and another one constantly has black display), PowerBook 180 (it works perfectly :D) and PowerBook G3 Lombard. In a week or to I will get an upgraded Power Macintosh 6500 and I am really looking forward to it. :D
As my main computer, I use MacBook, 2009 unibody model and I absolutely love it. :)
I am really happy that this page exists, it is nice to know that there are more of us who have passion for old Macs. :)
How are you using them? I am planning to use this Power Macintosh for playing old games, writing emails, listening to music. What other uses are you suggesting? :) I would really like to push it to its limits and see what it can do. :)
What are your thoughts about these Macs - how durable are they? Should I use them just as any other computer, or would it be better to store them somewhere safely and turn them on only when I feel nostalgic?
Thanks! :)
9 Software / IMAP

Which of these clients support IMAP?
Outlook express does, but some features (like moving emails to folders) are not working.
Thanks. :)
