Operating System / CD burning MAC OS Yosemite & MAC OS 7.6)

I want to burn cd in mac os yosemite with my imac intel core 2 in order to be able to read the cd on mac os 7.6 which i have installed on my performa 6116. Is there a way? I try to use disk utility but there is not an option for mac os standard formatting. |

thank you for your info. Recently i got the necessary cables for the connection. I did the process you described and i managed to copy some games from my performa 6116. I also downloaded disk images of system 7.1.1 to my mac performa and i installed the operating system to powerbook 540c hard disk. So easy and nice. Thank you again. |

i changed the position of the one jumper. I put it next to "id 2". When i power on the computer for some seconds the screen shows a question mark and then the hard drive starts spinning and comes the mac os. If i reset the computer everything work great (there is no delay at all). When i shut it down and then power it on again i have to wait some seconds again for the hard drive to start spinning again. |

Hello, i connected to my performa 6116 a 2.5" 10,000 rpm hard drive using a SCA to 50 pin adapter. The problem is that when i turn on the computer, the system cannot detect the hard drive. So i boot with an apple system recovery cd, i run the drive setup 1.7.3, i search the scsi volumes and so i find the hard drive which i have to mount it (i also click on the option "automount on startup". I did 3 partitions and i installed mac os 7.6.1, mac os 8.1 and mac os 9. Every os work great so the hard drive, i installed some games also and the sonnet g3 drivers. The problem is that when i turn off the computer, next time that i turn it on, it cannot detect the hard drive again. So i have to do the same process. Boot from apple system recovery cd, run drive setup 1.7.3 (i also update the drives), search for scsi volumes, mount the hard drive and all come again. What can i do to avoid all this process? |

Yesterday i connected an AAUI transceiver to my performa 6116 (i got it the previous week for my powerbook 540c). It worked but i guess i have to find a good browser. I have Mac OS 8.1 installed and i used internet explorer version 5 as i can remember but the pages don't appear correctly. But i managed to download 3-4 games from http://www.grenier-du-mac.net/  . Also i used a version of icab but the browser was freezing.

Hardware / Copy files from Imac G3 to Powerbook 540

I want to have the capability to copy files from my Imac G3 (9.2 installed) to my Powerbook 540c (7.5 installed). I have an RJ45 "AAUI ethernet transceiver and a Cat 5e patch cable which i connected it to the ethernet ports of the two machines.I also checked the TCP/IP and network panels but i don't know what to do. Can someone help? |

I disassembled the display panel, the cables and then i connected them again but nothing. Also i found a cable and i connected the Powerbook to an external display but nothing on the screen except the background theme. |

A friend of mine gave me a powerbook 540c and he didn't know if it works because he needed batteries and power adapter. So i bought these items from ebay. I tested the powerbook and it ran just fine. Mac Os 8.1 is installed and it has 36 mb ram. Then i went to put my little daughter to sleep and when i came back i saw just a white screen. Nothing else but the hard disk seems to run correctly. I turned off the machine with the power key and then i turned it on again but all i can see is a white screen. What can i do? |

recently i replaced my apple 4x cd rom drive with 24x cd rom drive from my performa 6116. The apple 24x is very nice and fast |

I bought a sonnet nubus g3 at 500 Mhz from Herb Johnson. http://www.retrotechnology.com/herbs_stuff/mac.html for my mac performa 6116. The difference in speed is very high and mac os 7.6 runs extremely fast. He has some sonnet accelerators http://www.retrotechnology.com/herbs_stuff/m_imac.html#accel . |
